After 33 years of football play outside of the top football league that consists of teams, such as Manchester United and Liverpool, Burnley made its debut and shocked the entire world.

Burnley had their first home match in the top league with a win over the Premier League Champions, Manchester United 1-0 thanks to an unforgettable volley from Burnley’s Robbie Blake and an excellent defensive effort when Brian Jensen saved a goal when Manchester United was awarded a penalty kick attempt by Michael Carrick.

This victory by Burnley will never be forgotten and will go into the history books.  Now all Burnley has to do is stay in the rankings of the Premiere League and attempt to qualify to participate in the upcoming 2010 World Cup South Africa.
