Euro 2008 – Spain Snatch Win from Sweden

The Swedes met the Spanish in Innsbruck with the Spanish favourites, and only just snatched the win with a goal in the 92nd minute when Villa finished a beautiful run and made it Spain 2, Sweden 1.  It was Spanish joy and Swedish anguish.  

Spain should now qualify for the quarter-finals and they should also miss meeting Holland, depending on how things develop in the other matches but with the look of their play, they'll be glad to miss playing an on-form Dutch team.

Holland Stun France to Lead the Group of Death

Holland have started their Euro 2008 campaign in surprisingly remarkable style.  Following on from their demolishion of Italy in their first match, they now lead the group and have qualified for the quarter-finals after crushing France 4-1 in their latest Euro 2008 encounter.  

Friday the 13th it may have been but not for the Dutch team, although France may well remember the old supersitions following the encounter in which they were dazzled by the brilliance of the Dutch goalscoring team.

Euro 2008 – Spain v Russia

Spain, the Euro 2008 Championship favourites saw off Russia in a dramatic 4-1 win over Russia.
 
David Villa accounted for three of the Spanish goals in a game which started the tournament off well for the Spanish and they’ll be keen to build on the scoreline of their first Group D clash.
