World Cup 2010 - Uruguay First Team to Enter Quarter Finals

Luis Suarez scored twice for Uruguay and made sure that his team qualified for the quarter finals. The Ajax Amsterdam man continues his good run of form and becomes one of the top scorers of this world cup.

Suarez scored for Uruguay in the 8th minute to give them a 1-0 leave of Korea. The Koreans kept pressing forward but were unable to penetrate the Uruguayan defense in the first half. They came back even stronger in the second half and Chung-Yong scored for them in the 68th minute to make the score 1-1.

Portugal vs. Brazil Fails to Live up to Expectations

It was a Friday evening game at the Durban Stadium, involving two of the biggest names in football. Experts and fans were expecting a cracker of a game as these two South American giants clashed but the match failed to live up to expectations and ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw.

Brazil were without their star players Kaka who had to sit out due to a red card and Elano who was out due to injury. Nilmar played in place of Kaka and had a good first half but neither he nor Luis Fabiano were able to score.

World Cup 2010 - Spain Beat Chile and Top Their Group

Spain played a stylish game against the Chileans and ended up winning 2-1 to top their group. After their first round loss to Switzerland, the Spaniards have come back in style and both their star players have been making an impact.

Although Fernando Torres is yet to score in this world cup, he is slowly coming back to form and will definitely be a threat to Portugal who are Spain’s next opponents in the round of 16. It was David Villa who opened the score for Spain and gave them a 1-0 lead. The Spaniards dominated the game and played some exciting football. Their second goal came from Andres Iniesta who was declared fit enough to play against Chile. Both goals were exceptional and gave fans something to cheer about, after a boring Brazil vs. Portugal draw.
